From 9/28 - 10/6, the Walt Disney Concert Hall illuminates its surface every night, displaying a cascade of swirling colors and interpretive art fused with footage, image, and audio from the LA Philharmonic’s archives. Spearheaded by Refik Anadol, WDCH Dreams is part of an exhibition showcasing the history of the LA Philharmonic, dating back to its inception in 1919.
I went the first night it opened and was awed by how every surface of the hall was illuminated without fail. I imagine Anadol spent hours coordinating the best locations and angles to place the projectors. The result was flawless. I’m surprised WDCH doesn’t put on more light shows.
Below are my favorite shots from the night I went.
